An Important Message from RCC’s Artistic Director
RCC Friends:
For the past 7 seasons, I have greatly enjoyed working with the beautiful RCC singers and instrumentalists to create meaningful concert experiences for our beloved audience community. Our people are truly amazing – in heart, spirit, mind, voice – everything!! And, our audience community is beyond compare in the way that they support and participate in our concert experience and in supporting our work monetarily. It has been a dream experience of mine to work with such compassionate, passionate, generous and talented folk – all of you.
Life is full of transitions, some are scary, some are exciting, and some just seem to happen at just the right time. This is a time of transition for me in my professional life, a time of retirement from the regular professional musical work I have done for over 35 years. It is a time to seek out new adventures exploring beloved places and experiencing new lands I have not seen. And, of course, there will always be music making in my life, but just not as a regular weekly job going forward.
My last day working for RCC as Artistic Director will be at the end of this current concert season, on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
While this news may be a shocking thing to hear, I truly believe this is not only the right thing for me right now, but also for RCC. It is time to have a new leader at the artistic helm, with new ideas and new dreams for this beloved singing community. I truly believe that there is someone getting ready right now to serve RCC as the new Artistic Director. In the final months and concert performances ahead with RCC, I hope to affirm who we are are, but also to help prepare our community to receive the new leader who will help guide RCC toward bright new horizons in the days to come.
With gratitude and best wishes for us all,
Jeffry
